FAQ
Q: What is this idea all about?
A: The idea is just about promoting the possibility of things.
Q: Hm... What does that exactly mean?
A: It means that there are often things which are not precluded by facts but for some reason still not probable. And I want to promote the will which would make possible things happen instead of preventing them to happen.
Q: How does this actually work?
A: It's simple. You buy the postcard I am selling on this page (using paypal) and then I send the postcard with handwritten greetings to the address of your choice. In this way you'll get a signed artwork.
Q: Where did you get the postcard image and why did you choose it?
A: I took the image from one of my other projects called “King me, baby ... it's oh-so fashionable” to which "the Million dollar picture" is strongly related. They are basically "two sides of the same coin". While the "King me, baby..." project is based on the idea of exclusivity, "the Million dollar picture" is based on mass consumption. It's about the same image, with the same meaning that in the first case is worth one million dollars as a single piece and in the second case is worth (kind of) $1.00 per 1 million pieces which again turns it into a 1 million dollars worth "product".
Q: And what would you do with all that money if you got that lucky?
A: First of all I would buy my life since apparently no one is interested in doing so. The rest of the money would just be shared with the community in a way or another.
Q: You seem to be a weird guy. Who are you?
A: I am just someone who apparently always fail to see things the way they should be seen. The proof of that can be found here.
Q: The price of the postcard is actually not just $1.00. Am I missing something?
A: The idea was indeed to sell a postcard for just 1$ but soon I realized that wasn't really possible. Because the costs per sent postcard sold through pay pal would be:
If I wanted to get one million dollars by selling 1 million postcards I would actually have to sell them for $2.30 each. Which is like 1.7€.
Q: How sure can I be that I would actually get what I paid for?
A: It actually all depends on the reliability of the postal service. If all I wanted was the money then I would probably just rob a bank or something.
Q: Why should I buy your postcard?
A: Maybe just because it's possible to do so and to make history. After all this is one of the cheapest piece of art you will ever get the chance to buy.
